Asia cup Cricket: India is the new champion defeating Sri Lanka in Final

India defeated Sri lanka in the final match to be the new champion of Asia cup cricket 2010. India won the match by 81 runs. Dinesh Kartik declared as man of the match for his contribution of 66 runs, highest from Indian side. The match was played in one day international (ODI) format of cricket.

India scored 268 for 6 batting first. Sri Lanka could score only 187 runs and all out in just 44.4 overs. Ashish Nehra bagged 4 wickets spending 40 runs in nine overs.

The match was played on June 24, 2010 at Rangiri international stadium, Dambulla, Sri lanka.

Sri Lanka take over Bangladesh in its third league match.Mahela Jayawardene and Upul Tharanga both hit a ton against Bangladesh on Friday. Jayawardene hit 108 runs for his 12th One-day International century and Upul Tharanga scored an unbeaten 118 for his eighth century. Jayawardene hit 13 fours in his 117 ball knock while Man-of-the-Match Tharanga's 126-ball knock had 18 fours in it.
Jayawardene and Tharanga reduced match to no contest with a record 215 runs opening partnership. Sri Lanka's previous best for opening wicket against Bangladesh in One-day International was 201 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara in an Asia Cup match in 2008.
